Pricing Policy

The basic criterion of our valuation method is the number of words in the source document. This standard method, used by most translators, is a fairly accurate estimate of the time required to translate a document. It favors fast translators and penalizes slower ones but has the undeniable advantage of being clear to the customer. This word count is obtained using standard CAT (Computer Assisted Translation) tools. If your project includes resource scripts or web pages, special parsing software is used  to eliminate irrelevant text. Finally, our translation software tools detect word or phrase repetition, further reducing the total number of words to translate and hence the cost to you.

Once the number of words has been evaluated, additional adjustments are then made with a view to further reducing the global cost to you. For instance, by its very nature a large project will cost proportionally less than several smaller ones.  Customer-supplied glossaries can also help shrink the price tag. These are but two simple examples of how we at Ipse Communication strive to align project cost with the actual work involved in translating it.

All prices include rigorous quality control, proofreading by a second translator, follow-up, testing and final corrections. These final points are particularly crucial for software and web site localization.

Each Project is Unique

Our pricing policy reflects the fact that each project is unique not only in terms of the specific content but also cost evaluation (see Pricing Policy above). Therefore, we cannot indicate a general rate on this site.

If you are considering a translation project, please contact us for a free personalized quotation. We will be pleased to discuss your project with you to determine which solutions and services are the most appropriate.

Uncompromising Quality, Competitive Prices and Low Overhead

Quality has its price. To maintain our high standard of quality, we work only with qualified professional translators, both in-house and freelance, who are paid accordingly. Ipse Communication's competitive prices are made possible by slashing overhead costs and passing the savings on to you to ensure you pay for the translation work, not for plush carpeting or a pool of secretaries. Our in-house team is small, tightly knit, efficient and makes the most of e-communication, thereby eliminating the need for costly office space. The administrative tasks are spread out, thereby eliminating the need for non-translation-productive staff.  Everyone on the Ipse Communication team is a translator, proofreader or project manager at some time.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

1)     Do you offer introductory discounts to first-time customers?
No.  Unfortunately we cannot guarantee high quality at slashed prices. Our pricing policy is already designed so as offer the lowest possible rates. However, if you are a first-time user, we encourage you to ask us for a free translation test.

2)    Do you offer volume discounts?
Yes. We offer discounts for large projects and yearly discounts for regular customers on a partnership basis.

3)     Why are your rates lower than those of  agencies who also offer quality services?
There are two main reasons. The first is a team of hand-picked translators we can rely on to deliver quality work in the allocated time-frame. The second is very low overhead due to our streamlined organization. We charge for translation work not for expensive office space.

4)     Why are you generally more expensive than freelance translators?
There are some excellent freelance translators. In fact, some of them work on our team! Basically, the difference between Ipse Communication and a given freelance translator is the same as between any team of people and an individual person: a team is more than the sum of the qualities of its individual members. As a team we can offer a higher level of quality control, proofreading and editing by a second translator, greater availability and shorter turnaround time. We believe our rates are a fair reflection of these and other services we offer.
